Who am I? My name is Bob Gerritsen. I am a Cabinetmaker since 1996, Dutch and born in October 1974. After receiving my education in furniture making at the HMC in Amsterdam I have almost always worked as an independent cabinetmaker. Therefore, I can combine technical knowledge with experience to get the job done. The charm of working as an independent carpenter for me is, quite simply that each client and each project is different. This is the essence of delivering a custom job. Only the rough outlines of the whole process are the same every time. Good communication ensures that I know what the customer wants, and doesn’t want. This makes designing a piece a smooth process. While designing, I make rough calculations so that I can adept the design to the clients budget. This whole process is an equally fun and important part of the project as the part where I actually start making it. Because I organize my company deliberately on a small scale, I can keep the costs down and maintain a high customer focus. Because I do almost everything myself, both the quality of work as well as the effectiveness are maintained. We can communicate in Dutch, English, German or French. |
